National COIR (Council of Informed Riders) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping motorcyclists stay informed about issues, legislation, and developments that affect the riding community. Its purpose is to serve as a central information resource by gathering relevant updates and sharing them so riders can better understand what is happening at the state and national levels. National COIR focuses on awareness, communication, and education so riders can make informed decisions for themselves. 


National COIR is for anyone who cares about motorcyclists and the future of the riding community. This includes independent riders as well as those affiliated with motorcycle organizations or clubs, regardless of the type or brand of motorcycle they ride. National COIR exists to support the entire riding community with information and awareness that benefits riders collectively.


National COIR gathers relevant information from organizations and sources across the motorcycle community and shares it so riders can stay informed. It monitors issues that affect motorcyclists and helps make information more accessible so riders understand what is happening and why it matters.


National COIR exists to gather and share information so riders can stay informed.


National COIR does not replace motorcycle rights organizations, clubs, or existing groups. It works alongside them by helping share information relevant to riders. National COIR does not endorse political parties or candidates. It remains non-partisan and focused on issues rather than politics.


National COIR does not dictate how individuals should ride or what safety equipment they use. It provides information so riders can make their own informed decisions.


Membership in National COIR is free and open to anyone. It is free because fees can limit participation, and our goal is to keep as much of the riding community informed as possible.

Membership includes access to an optional $3,500 Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) insurance benefit for those who choose to enroll. See next section for details.

If you prefer not to provide personal information, you may choose to join by supplying only an email address and your state of residence. This allows National COIR to share relevant updates and information without requiring you to provide personal information. National COIR does not sell, trade, or misuse member information.


National COIR membership includes a $3,500 Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) insurance benefit provided at no cost to members. This optional benefit is offered as an added resource for those who choose to receive it. To enroll, members must provide their name and mailing address, as required by the insurance provider. Members who prefer not to provide personal information may still join National COIR by supplying only an email address and state of residence to receive updates and information.


National COIR operates as an independent nonprofit organization guided by its mission and purpose. National COIR works with and shares information from many groups across the motorcycle community, but it does not speak on their behalf, and they do not direct National COIR’s activities or positions. National COIR is committed to transparency, accountability, and staying focused on its mission to serve the riding community.



There are several ways to get involved with National COIR, depending on your level of interest and availability. You can:

  • Register to receive updates and stay informed about issues affecting riders
  • Share information with other riders so more of the community stays informed
  • Connect with and support motorcycle rights organizations working in your state
  • Participate in discussions and community outreach efforts when opportunities arise
  • Express interest in serving as a local National COIR representative in your area      by contacting us for more information


Participation is always voluntary, and there is no requirement to take part beyond staying informed. Every rider’s level of involvement is respected.



Does National COIR replace motorcycle rights organizations?
No. National COIR does not replace or compete with existing organizations. Its role is to help share their information so it can reach more riders.

Is National COIR political?
National COIR is non-partisan. It focuses on issues that affect motorcyclists and does not endorse political parties or candidates.

Do I have to belong to a club or organization to join?
No. Membership is open to anyone, whether independent or affiliated with a motorcycle organization or club.

Why haven’t I heard of National COIR before?
National COIR is a growing organization focused on expanding awareness and helping more riders stay informed about issues that affect the motorcycle community.

Do I have to participate in activities or advocacy?
No. Participation is always voluntary. Members can simply receive information and stay informed.
